McCaskill House - 1999 - Bowen Island

This project was designed for two Calgarians as a recreational property on Bowen Island in British Columbia. The clients wanted 2 fully complete one-bedroom suites for their guests and kids when they came to visit, their main cabin being too small.  There is a 4 car garage for workshop, vehicles, kayaks and their antique 49 Chevy truck that he drives on the island. Large windows to capture light, an entry terrace to enjoy the views, natural local materials and carved columns and beams that reference the Haida culture, the building is very comfortable in the island setting. All materials are renewable and require no seasonal maintenance.
